BitStarz Restricted Countries: The Full 66-Country List From Clause 3.6, and the Refund and Bonus Rules Around It
BitStarz's terms (clause 3.6) name 66 countries and jurisdictions, plus the French and Dutch overseas territories, where you may not deposit or play for real money — including the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Netherlands, Brazil, Poland, Ukraine, Russia and Israel. Here is the clause in full, the refund and bonus clauses attached to it, and the large markets it does not name, read at source on 14 October 2026.
Quick answer
- BitStarz's terms (clause 3.6) bar real-money deposits and play from 66 countries and jurisdictions including the US, UK, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, Greece, Ukraine, Russia, Israel and Brazil — for fiat and crypto alike. (Source: bitstarz.com Terms 3.6, page dated 2025-06-25, read 2026-09-08, re-read unchanged 2026-10-14)
- Refunds are not guaranteed for deposits made in breach (3.3), bonus winnings from a restricted country are void (3.4), and withdrawals may not be processed (3.7). (Source: bitstarz.com Terms 3.3, 3.4, 3.7, read 2026-10-14)
- Germany, Australia, Austria, Sweden, Italy and Denmark are not named — the only operator we track that omits Germany and Australia. Nigeria, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa and Japan are not named either. Absence says nothing about local law. (Source: bitstarz.com Terms 3.6, read 2026-10-14)
- BitStarz is operated by Dama N.V. under Curaçao licence OGL/2024/165/0185; the regulator's register lists its status as "Indefinite". (Source: CGA licence register, PDF of 12 Oct 2026, read 2026-10-14)
BitStarz’s terms name 66 countries and jurisdictions, plus a string of French and Dutch overseas territories, where you may not deposit or play for real money. It is the longest restricted list of the five operators we track, and the one with the most unusual shape: it reaches deep into Central and Eastern Europe, the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa, and yet leaves out Germany, Australia and Sweden, which every other operator names.
Here is the clause in full, from the terms page dated 25 June 2025, as read on 8 September 2026 and re-read unchanged on 14 October 2026:
Users from the following countries and their territories (“Restricted Countries List”) are not allowed to deposit and play real money games: United States of America, Puerto Rico, Greece, United Kingdom (including any overseas territories), Isle of Man, Jersey, Gibraltar, Spain, France and its overseas territories (Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion, Mayotte, St. Martin, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, New Caledonia), Netherlands, Israel, Lithuania, Slovakia, Belgium, Dutch West Indies, Angola, Albania, Iraq, Jamaica, Uganda, Pakistan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Panama, Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Yemen, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Sudan, Liberia, Syrian Arab Republic, Cayman Islands, Somalia, Congo, North Korea, Eritrea, Haiti, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Myanmar, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali, Barbados, Rwanda, Czech Republic, Serbia, Cuba, Portugal, Georgia, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Poland, Romania, Cyprus, Brazil, Russia or Curacao to play at BitStarz. This includes both FIAT and Cryptocurrencies.
— BitStarz Terms and Conditions, clause 3.6
The list, sorted
| Region | Restricted countries and jurisdictions |
|---|---|
| Europe (27) | Albania, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France (and its overseas territories), Georgia, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Isle of Man, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom (including overseas territories) |
| Americas (12) | Barbados, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curaçao, Dutch West Indies (Aruba, Bonaire, Sint Maarten and the other Dutch Caribbean islands), Haiti, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, United States of America |
| Africa (18) | Angola, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Liberia, Libya, Mali, Mauritius, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe |
| Middle East (6) | Iran, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen |
| Asia-Pacific (3) | Myanmar, North Korea, Pakistan |
Sixty-six entries, not counting the nine French overseas territories listed by name or the Dutch Caribbean islands grouped as “Dutch West Indies”. The African section is unusual: most operators name only the sanctioned or FATF-listed countries, whereas BitStarz names eighteen, including large markets such as Angola, Uganda and Ethiopia. It does not name Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya or South Africa.
The clauses around the list
The list sits inside a seven-clause “Restricted Countries Policy”, and the clauses either side of it are the ones that decide what happens to your money.
3.1 — your law, your problem. “The Casino accepts players only from those countries and geographic regions where online gambling is allowed by law”, and your consent to the terms “confirms that You are solely responsible” for not breaching the laws that apply to you. This is a general exclusion in addition to the list: an unlisted country where online casino play is illegal is still, on the words of 3.1, a place BitStarz does not accept players from.
3.3 — refunds are not guaranteed. If you breach the policy and “manage to complete payment”, BitStarz “does not guarantee the availability of a refund”, though it says it will “apply reasonable measures to remit the funds”. The same clause reserves the right to verify your identity at KYC, which is where a breach is normally found.
3.4 — bonus winnings are void. Any winnings from a bonus issued to a player from a restricted country, or a country restricted for bonuses, are “automatically considered void”. The bonus-restricted list is a separate and longer list in the bonus terms; we cover it in our BitStarz bonuses guide.
3.7 — withdrawals may not be processed. “The Casino cannot guarantee successful processing of withdrawals or refunds in the event that Player breaches this Restricted Countries policy.”
4.3 — VPN. In the games section rather than the countries section: “Using a VPN to bypass a provider’s block is strictly prohibited and may lead to confiscation of winnings.” Game providers apply their own geo-blocks on top of the casino’s, which is why a game can be unavailable in a country the casino itself accepts. Our guide to crypto-casino VPN policies explains how these are enforced.
The countries BitStarz does not name — and why that is not permission
BitStarz is the only operator of the five we track that does not name Germany or Australia, and it also leaves out Austria, Sweden, Italy and Denmark. For comparison, Stake names all six; Shuffle names Germany, Australia and Sweden and catches the rest with its licensing catch-all; Cloudbet and BC.GAME name Germany, Austria and Australia.
That omission says nothing about the law in those countries. Germany’s GlüStV 2021 and §284 StGB make unlicensed online gambling unlawful; Italy’s regime requires an ADM licence; Sweden’s requires a Spelinspektionen licence; Australia’s Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits offering online casino games to Australians; Denmark’s requires a Spillemyndigheden licence. Clause 3.1 — “only from those countries … where online gambling is allowed by law” — puts the burden of that question on you, and the honest answer in those six countries is that an unlicensed Curaçao operator is not allowed. We hide our buttons there for that reason.
Also not named, with meaningful readership on this site: Nigeria, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, the Philippines, Ghana, Kenya, Vietnam, Thailand, Türkiye, India, Japan, Canada, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru and New Zealand. The same caveats apply: Japan prohibits online casino play for the player; India banned online money games in 2025; Türkiye criminalises play and promotion; Argentina, Colombia and Peru license operators and act against unlicensed ones. For a per-country answer across every operator we track, see Nigeria, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, Philippines, Ghana, Vietnam, Thailand, or any country in the casino country checker. Readers in Ukraine, Czechia and Poland, which BitStarz names, can see which of the other four do not: Ukraine, Czechia, Poland.

What we do with this
We publish an honest review of BitStarz and we have a commercial relationship with it. If your country is in the list above, no link on this site is worth anything to you and neither is the offer. If it is not, the things worth checking next are the licence status — BitStarz’s Curaçao licence is recorded as “Indefinite” on the regulator’s register — the bonus terms, which carry a 40x rollover, and the withdrawal behaviour compared with the other operators.

FAQ
- Is BitStarz available in the United States or the United Kingdom?
- No. The United States (with Puerto Rico) and the United Kingdom (including its overseas territories, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Gibraltar) are all named in clause 3.6. Users from listed countries may not deposit or play real-money games, in fiat or crypto.
- Can I use BitStarz in Germany, Australia or Sweden?
- None of the three is named in clause 3.6 as read on 14 October 2026 — BitStarz is the only operator we track that does not name Germany or Australia. That is a statement about the operator's list only. Germany's GlüStV 2021 prohibits unlicensed online casinos, Sweden requires a Spelinspektionen licence and Australia's Interactive Gambling Act bars offering online casino games to residents, so the omission is not permission.
- Is BitStarz available in Brazil, Poland or Ukraine?
- No. Brazil, Poland and Ukraine are all named in clause 3.6, along with Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Georgia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Russia. BitStarz names more of Central and Eastern Europe than any other operator we track.
- What happens to my deposit if I play from a restricted country?
- Clause 3.3 says the casino does not guarantee a refund if you manage to complete a payment in breach of the policy, though it will apply reasonable measures to remit the funds. Clause 3.7 says it cannot guarantee that withdrawals or refunds will be processed. Clause 3.4 voids any winnings from a bonus issued to a player from a restricted country. In practice the breach is discovered at KYC (clause 3.3), which happens before a withdrawal.
- Does BitStarz allow VPN use?
- Clause 4.3 says using a VPN to bypass a game provider's block is strictly prohibited and may lead to confiscation of winnings, and clause 3.1 makes you responsible for not breaching the laws of your own jurisdiction. If your country is on the list, BitStarz is not available to you.
