Stake VIP Levels and Rakeback Explained — All 15 Tiers, and What the Climb Actually Costs

Stake’s reward system is the most copied in crypto gambling: no headline deposit match, just a wager-driven VIP ladder with rakeback at its core. This guide gives the tier table, explains how rakeback is really calculated — the part almost every summary gets wrong — and does the arithmetic on what climbing actually costs. A sourcing note first, because it affects how much weight to put on the table below. stake.com answers HTTP 451 from Japan, where this site is maintained, so we could not read the official VIP page at source. The thresholds here are cross-checked between two independent secondary sources that agree on every value either of them states, read on 10 September 2026. That is a weaker grade of evidence than we normally publish, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. Verify on your own VIP page before relying on any of it.

Platinum IV is the line that matters structurally. It is where a dedicated VIP host is assigned, which is the point at which rewards stop being automated and start being negotiated. Below it you get what the system gives you; above it you get what you can ask for.

Sportsbook wagers are widely reported to count triple toward progress. That comes from a single source we could not corroborate, so treat it as probable rather than established — but if it holds, a sports bettor reaches Gold at roughly $33,000 staked where a slots player needs $100,000.

What rakeback actually is, and the mistake everyone makes

Rakeback returns a percentage of the house edge on every bet, credited win or lose. It is not a percentage of your turnover, and the difference is not academic — it is roughly two orders of magnitude.

Stake documents 3.5% of the edge as its standard rate. Work that through:

• You wager $100,000 on a game with a 1% house edge (about right for Stake Originals).
• The expected cost of that volume is $1,000.
• Rakeback at 3.5% of the edge returns 3.5% of that $1,000, so $35.
• Your effective house edge is now about 0.965% instead of 1%.

That is a real discount. It is also not remotely close to free money, and no tier changes the sign. If a rakeback rate ever exceeded 100% of the edge, the operator would be paying people to play.

Two further honest points:

1. Rakeback scales with volume, not with losses. Winners and losers both receive it, because it is funded by the edge on turnover rather than by your results.
2. Per-tier rakeback percentages are not published. Sites that give you a per-level rakeback table are inventing it. We have left ours out for that reason.

The arithmetic of chasing a tier

This is the number a high-volume player should actually look at, and it is the reason we built the calculator.

Say you are at Gold (100,000 points) and want Platinum I (250,000):

For the chase to be worth it on expected value alone, the level-up bonus plus the improved rakeback would need to exceed $1,448. Stake does not publish what that bonus is, so nobody — including us — can tell you whether it does. What we can tell you is that the burden of proof sits on the reward side, and that the cost side is fixed and knowable.

At a 4% edge on slots rather than 1% on originals, the same climb costs about $6,000 expected. Which game you play changes the cost of the ladder by 4x. Which tier you are on does not come close to that. The rule that follows is simple. Wager at the pace you would have anyway, and let the tier arrive. Volume generated to reach a threshold is volume bought at the house edge, and the edge does not care why you placed the bet.

What the tiers unlock

Reward types, as documented across the sources we could read:

• Rakeback — from Bronze upward, on casino and sportsbook wagers alike.
• Level-up bonus — a one-off payment at each new tier, amount unpublished and activity-dependent.
• Weekly boost — distributed on Saturdays, keyed to that week’s wagering, your tier and your results.
• Monthly bonus — around the middle of the month, covering the previous calendar month, generally larger than the weekly.
• Daily reload — from Platinum I, claimable once every 24 hours.
• VIP host — from Platinum IV, with custom offers negotiated directly.

Every one of these is funded by the same thing: the house edge on wagered volume. That is not a criticism, it is just where the money comes from, and knowing it makes the rewards easier to size correctly.

Before you plan around any of this

Stake’s VIP terms vary by region, and in some countries the programme is not available at all. Check the country acceptance checker before assuming any of this applies to you.

Bottom line

Fifteen tiers, thresholds that read directly as dollars wagered, rakeback that is a slice of the edge rather than of your stake, and a set of bonuses whose amounts Stake keeps to itself. The published half of the equation is the cost, and the cost is knowable to the dollar. Treat the reward half as unknown until your host quotes it, and never let a progress bar decide the size of your next bet.
