Is Stake legal in Alberta?

Registered, but not live yet. Registered, not on AiGC’s list yet

Not yet as a live site. Stake Canada Ltd. is on AGLC’s register of iGaming operators (registration in effect to 24 September 2027), but no Stake site is on AiGC’s list of registered iGaming sites, which is the list AGLC tells Albertans to play from. Checked 25 October 2026.

Casino and sportsbook

Stake Canada Ltd. was added to AGLC’s register in September 2026. That is the regulated Canadian company. stake.com, the international crypto casino most people mean by “Stake”, is a different site and is not on AiGC’s list.

What “registered but not live” means

AGLC registers a company after vetting it. To open to players the operator also needs a signed commercial agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation, and its site then appears on AiGC’s list. Until a Stake site is on that list, AGLC’s advice is to play only on the sites that are. We re-read both lists every day, so this page changes the day Stake goes live.

Addresses such as stake.com, stake.us, stake.bet are not on AiGC’s list.

Check it yourself

  1. Open AiGC’s Registered iGaming Sites and look for Stake. If it is there, use the link on the card.
  2. Open AGLC’s gaming registrants list and search for the company (Stake Canada Ltd.).
  3. Or paste the address you were given into our Alberta checker.
